Projects

The Avoca Friends of the Pool have been working hard to secure funding for this season via both Community Fundraising Events and Community Grants.

This season you will see the inclusion of our Community Art Mural being painted with the assistance of voluntary local artists and the community members.

New Shade Sails and a Pool Lift will be installed ready for this season.

These projects have been made possible through Community Grants sourced by the committee throughout recent seasons, and the generous donations made by the Avoca Community Organisations, Businesses, and Local Community Members.

You can do your part for your local swimming pool by donating to our cause. Information on donating can be found on our home page.

Avoca Friends of the Pool hope to further expand the facilities of the swimming pool and welcome community input in what they would like to see at their local swimming pool this season and future seasons.

Our Success

While the development of the Avoca Friends of the Pool is only recent, success has already been experienced! While working closely with the community of Avoca and surrounds, the Pyrenees Shire Council and the Avoca Swimming Pool service provider, many goals have already been reached!

Facilities improvements facilitated by Avoca FoP include:

An update of the PA system - music included!
Thermal Blankets
Picnic Tables and Seating
Big Inflatable
Medium Inflatable ...with more to come this upcoming season
BBQ and equipment
Popcorn Machine
Marquee for events

The Pyrenees Shire Council have also been very supportive and have recently undertaken a large amount of work at the pool.

Updated kiosk
A new shade cloth
Synpave surrounding of all pools
Freshly painted inside of all of the pools.
Upgraded Car Park
Footpath upgrade on site for all purpose access.
